Nissan Stadium holds over 68,000 fans and many of those seats will be filled once the game gets underway. It may be a lot of people in a large stadium but that is not going to be a problem for the Hornets.
“I fill good about our team’s preparation, but I think everybody is making more out of it than should be, playing in a big stadium,” Jenkins said. “It’s a football game. It’s the same as every other football game and we look at this game the same as we look at any other football game.”
“We know we are going in to face a very good football team and we are going to prepare to the best of our ability and compete with this team and see if we can come out victorious.”
The Hornets coaching staff has been playing “catch up” since the start of preseason practice since they were unable to hold spring practice, and it is still an ongoing process even though the season is only a few days away.
“You’re never caught up, even when you’re on time you’re behind,” Jenkins said. “We still feel like we are still playing catch up. You have to look at it, that’s 15 practices that we did not have and how you catch up for those, I just don’t see you doing it. You just have to take the time you have and do the best you can.”
With the game not being played until Sunday, ASU will have one extra day to practice before making the trip to Nashville sometime Saturday.
