Rinse and Repeat Forecast

Forecaster: Ryan Stinnett
Pretty easy forecasting this time of year, as temperatures are very similar each day, and there is nearly always a threat for rain. For today, temperature are heading towards the 90s this afternoon, and overall it will be a hot and humid Wednesday. We are going to see plenty of sunshine this morning, but by this afternoon, we are also going to see clouds on the increase. Through the afternoon and evening hours, expect to see that daily dose of isolated to scattered showers/storms develop and move southeast to northwest across the state, due to an area of high pressure to the east of us and an area of low pressure over southern Louisiana. Much like Tuesday, nothing too widespread, but there will be a few storms that will produce a lot lightning and intense rainfall and then gradually wind down after daytime heating is loss after sunset.
REST OF WORK WEEK: The hot, humid summer weather continues with the daily round of isolated to perhaps scattered, mainly afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the lower to mid 90s Thursday and Friday afternoon, while nights will be muggy, with lows in the 70s. Wrapping up the work week, the influence of the high pressure weakens for us and that will allow for an upper level trough to settle into the Southeast. This will allow for a gradual increase in the coverage of scattered showers and storms each day.
THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: A persistence forecast looks to work best as better than average rain chances will continue into the weekend, as we are going to see scattered showers and storms both Saturday and Sunday. We should see a more sun than clouds and afternoon highs will range from the lower to mid 90s. Certainly no washouts this weekend, but know that you may have to dodge some raindrops along the way.
