USS Alabama Reps to Visit Wiregrass Forum

CaptureRepresentatives of the USS Alabama Battleship Commission will visit Ozark this Friday, July 29, to address the Wiregrass Forum during its 7:30 a.m. breakfast meeting at Hoppergrass Restaurant. Long-time Battleship Commissioner Lee Allen Hallman of Tuscaloosa, Development Director Lynne Price and Executive Director Maj. Gen. Janet Cobb are visiting as part of their state-wide outreach efforts.

Their message is to remind Alabamians that a state-wide campaign of school children, businesses and Chambers of Commerce brought the USS ALABAMA home in 1965, and that she, and submarine USS DRUM, are historical treasures. They will discuss the many attractions available for visitors at Battleship Memorial Park.

They are guests of the Brundidge Mayor James T. Ramage III, and will be available for interviews at 9:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers of Ozark City Hall. The Wiregrass Forum brings together business, civic, political, judicial, educational and other community leaders from Pike, Dale, Houston, Henry, Barbour, Coffee and Geneva counties.
