New Day, Same Forecast

FOR YOUR THURSDAY: A mix of clouds and sun with isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Not everyone will get rain today, but know that a shower/storm will be possible at just about anytime. Temperatures this afternoon will climb into the lower and mid 90s. With the ocean of humidity in place across the state, it is quite muggy and uncomfortable out there today.

BETTER RAIN CHANCES: With a weakness in the upper ridge across the Deep South, we’ll have a better chance of rain as we wrap up the work week. So expect a mix of sun and clouds, with a 30-40% chance of showers and thunderstorms Friday. Afternoon highs will be in the 90s. Not everyone will get rainfall, but between Friday and Tuesday many communities should see at least one decent downpour.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: More of the same as we wrap up the month of July. Decent rain chances will continue as we are going to see scattered showers and storms both Saturday and Sunday. We should see more clouds than sun and afternoon highs will range from the lower to mid 90s. Certainly no washouts this weekend, but know that you may have to dodge some raindrops along the way.

HELLO AUGUST: We end July this weekend and we start to 8th month of the year, August on Monday…Where is this year going? We are now less than five months away from Christmas and each day we are getting closer to some cooler weather, but not anytime soon. August is one of the hottest months of the year, and to start the month, it looks as though the upper ridge will strengthen a bit. We should see showers and storms go from scattered to more isolated in nature and temperatures will return to the mid 90s and perhaps upper 90s late next week. Still plenty of summer left.
