Two Candidates Seek Troy’s District 5 Seat
The District 5 council seat is up for grabs in the city of Troy.
Former councilwoman Wanda Moultry Hopes to unseat Dejerilyn King Henderson. Moultry says one of her main goals is to improve homes in the neighborhood. King is focused on turning the old Academy Street High School into a recreation center.
“Once that building is refurbished the activities that will go in that building will be such a tremendous benefit,” says Henderson.
“Some of our houses in the neighborhoods-you know the roofs leak they need better windows, they need energy-efficient measures done in their homes and I know if we work together we can get this done,” says Moultry.
The city election in Troy is August 23rd.
