School Year Begins in Pike County
Summer break is also over for kids of Pike County schools and Troy City Schools.
Students of Troy City Schools headed back to class Wednesday morning. Pike schools started the school year Tuesday. For Charles Henderson High School, students are adjusting to block scheduling. School officials say the change offers more electives and involvement in career tech centers.
Aaron Brown, Principal of Charles Henderson Middle School says while there aren’t any changes for their students, there are plenty of activities planned for the upcoming year.
“We are just going to press on with what has worked for us at the middle school and what has worked for us keeping students first in every aspect of education in our building,” says Brown.
School officials also want to remind drivers to be mindful of school traffic at bus stops and near school zones.
