Gun sales are on the way up across the country. According to recent FBI reports, in July the FBI processed 2.2 million background checks-- an all time high.

As gun sales remain on a steady rise across the country, we checked to see how local gun sales are doing. At Tri-County Pawn Shop in Prattville, they say business is booming.
Owner David Gentry says they usually see more sales when major shootings happen or when presidential candidates make comments about gun control.
“Right now, since the election process started, it’s really picked up more again. You know, the Second Amendment thing is brought up and people are getting worried again about their gun rights being took away, so they are stock piling their ammo and buying more and more guns,” said Gentry.
Gun store owners say they have also seen a big increase in first time buyers and women looking for a firearm for protection.
