I-85 Traffic Fatality Leaves One Dead

An early morning crash on interstate 85 left one person dead today.

Montgomery police say a Mazda tribute crashed head on into a Toyota Camry around 5:30 a-m near the south Perry street overpass.

The driver of the Mazda, 31 year old Pedro Vazquez, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other car sustained life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Police say the initial investigation shows that Vazquez was heading the wrong way on I-85 north, leading to that head on crash.
