Selma Voters Get Ready for Municipal Elections

WAL ELECTION FOX PKGFrom the West Alabama Newsroom–

Selma voters get set to head to polls Tuesday to choose a mayor, a city council and a city school board.

Eight of the nine council seats are up for grabs in the election along with all five seats on the school board and the mayor’s office.

There are a total of forty-six candidates on the ballot running for fourteen seats.

“A lot of these candidates that are running don’t even attend meetings,” said Chris Minter.

“If you haven’t been concerned about the city until you decide to run for office then I don’t think you really should be seeking office.”

Polls open from 7 AM to 7 PM.
