New Football Coach Heads Into Home Opener In Troy

Many high school football teams will wrap up their first home games tonight.

Charles Henderson’s home opener with a brand new coach will be in the books.

New Head Coach Brad McCoy is very familiar with their opponent- the Daleville Warhawks.

He coached there for the past 5 seasons before coming to Troy.

While he says it was a mixed bag of emotions heading into the game, he didn’t discuss it with the team beforehand.

And instead wanted them to focus on continuing to improve on mistakes.

Coach McCoy said, “I guess there is a sense of it being an odd feeling…Coach Parrish and his staff all those players I am very close to and spent a lot of time with got a lot of respect for them. …But it’s the next game. It’s the next chance for us to get better to improve and of course we are going to go into it with the mentality that we need to win this ballgame and get ready for the next one.”

Did they beat Daleville? We will have complete highlights from the game tonight on Alabama News Network at 10.
