The 60th annual Central Alabama Fair gets underway tonight in Selma kicking off a full week of family-friendly fun.

Organizers say this year’s fair features dozens of rides, games and special events for the whole community to enjoy.

Crews have been hard at work all morning getting everything ready for opening day.

“We provide fun for the family. We’ve got rides, we’ve got games, food, we’ve got a petting zoo, we’ve got beauty pageants, said Russell Haskell with the Selma Lion’s Club which sponsors the fair.

“We have a sing off Thursday night, petting zoo’s open the hours of the fair,” he said.

Alabama News Network Kid’s Day is Wednesday. Children get in free by donating a can of food.
