Troy Parks and Recreation’s Walking Trail to Expand
People will soon see an expansion of Troy Parks and Recreation’s popular walking trail.
The 1.1 mile trail will soon stretch to 2 miles. The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is funding 80 percent of the one hundred $25,000 project. The city’s responsible for 20 percent. People using the trail everyday say they are excited about the city’s plan.
“I think it’s awesome. I’m really excited about it. I know it’s only a mile long right now which is good but the longer it is the better,” says Troy Resident Mary Beth Garcia.
The trail is expected to be complete by August of next year.
