Sequence 12345From the West Alabama Newsroom–

Demopolis Mayor Mike Grayson discusses the impact of the new multi-million dollar sawmill heading to the city next year.

Grayson says the decision by Two River Lumber Company to build a new state of the art sawmill in Demopolis means more than a hundred jobs are on the way to the city.

He says the sawmill project is about a 70 million dollar investment that will impact the whole community.

“This will have a very positive impact on real estate, on banking, on our school, even our healthcare facilities,” said Grayson.

“I can’t see one down side to this. Its what we’ve been working on for a long time.”

Construction on the project is scheduled to start in January.

The new sawmill is expected to be up and running by September of 2017.
