Marengo Co. Family Preps for Pink Out Day
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
A Marengo County family organizes a cancer awareness event in honor of a family member who died from the disease.
The annual Pink Out Day started as an annual Greene family get together to remember their loved one — Sheila Greene Jenkins who died from breast cancer in 2012.
The family decided to expand their event after visiting the Tickled Pink Expo.
Now, it’s a community event that honors the memory of Sheila Greene Jenkins while helps others by raising awareness about the disease.
“Breast cancer made me look at things differently and I was forced to do that because what my daughter went through and I don’t want to see anyone else have to go through that.”
Pink Out Day is Saturday, October 22nd at 3 pm at the JASS Activity Center in Sweet Water.
