Monday Marks Voter Registration Deadline

Monday marks the last day you can register to vote for this year’s general election.

If you still haven’t signed up, there are a few options.

For residents with current driver’s licenses, you can go to the secretary of state’s website alabamavotes.gov and do it electronically.

You can also visit your county’s Board of Registrars.

Secretary of State John Merrill says he’s expecting a busy last day.

“I think we’re going to continue to see people fill out applications, try and get registered. We anticipate the highest voter turnout in the state for this general election,” said Merrill.

Merrill says the number of registered voters is currently about 3.3 million, up about 500,000 since the last gubernatorial election.
