58th Annual Central Alabama Fair Kicks Off in Selma

From the West Alabama Newsroom–  The 58th annual Central Alabama Fair kicks off in Selma and people in west Alabama are gearing up for a fun-filled week of thrills and chills.

Crews have been hard at work all day getting everything ready for opening day at the fair. The smell of good food and the sound of music are already filling the air at the fairgrounds.

Fair manager John Haskell says this year’s fair features dozens of rides and games and activities for children of all ages.

“We’re going to have the armbands tonight, 15 dollars and you can ride all night long and just come on out with all these rides, all the concession stands. You can have good food, good rides and I hope good weather,” said Haskell.

Alabama News Network Chief Meteorologist Ashley McDonald was on hand at the opening to cut the ribbon and kick-off all the festivities.
