Troy City Officials Finalize Downtown Plan
After meeting with people in the community are finally pleased with a plan to present to council members.
Since June, city officials have been a developing a plan than changes the downtown area over the next 10 years. A $40,000 grant from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs and a $10,000 match from the city makes the vision possible. Right now officials are hoping to make improvements to building, making streets more bicyle and pedestrian friendly and adding loft apartments.
“It’s everyone’s downtown, so this is everyone’s downtown plan. we worked hard on this vision for everyone in the city of troy,” says Planning and Zoning Administrator Melissa Sanders.
Officials expect the Troy City Council to decide whether to officially approve the plan by next month.
