Trojan Tribute for Demario Harris Jr.

The Charles Henderson Trojans will hit the field tonight missing their teammate. 

It’s been one week since Demario Harris Jr. passed away from head trauma after collapsing on the field. 
 
Earlier today the high school held a balloon release to celebrate and remember#10. 
 
 
Austin Ingram, CHHS quarterback said, “Squirrel was a part of all of us. he was more than just a friend or teammate he really was our brother. And it’s just hard knowing that he’s not going to be here with us.”

 
 
Nena Williams and Jacquerean Marshall said, “Just the prayers and the love it showed today. It’s amazing. Yes it did.”
 
Jacquerean’s been recovering the past three months from a gunshot wound to the head.
The  community wrapped their arms around his family and now it’s his turn to be there for his teammate. 
 
Jacquerean said, “I love him. He’s the best. Number 10. Yes he was the best.”
 
Nena said, “As much as it was a sad day, all the love made everybody smile.”
 
Stephon Moore said, “Squirrel and Jacquerean they are our motivation. That’s what we are here for. We are going to take care of each other and just work and do it for them. They want to do it more than anybody and they cant so we got to honor them.”
 
Austin said, “We miss him and we are excited hes going to get to watch down on us tonight.”
 
More than 3,000 shirts have been purchased to support the Harris family. 
Everyone’s asked to wear them here tonight these buttons will also be worn. 
 
Troy Elementary students were able to raise $2,000 for the Harris family. Shirts can be ordered through next week. Just give the high school a call at 566-3510.
