Rally Against Judge Mark Fuller Held In Montgomery

Virtually the entire Alabama congressional delegation is calling for Federal Judge Mark Fuller to resign after allegedly beating his wife.

And today a small group gathered in front of Montgomery’s federal courthouse hoping Fuller hears their message loud and clear.

Fuller’s been suspended from hearing cases since the incident in an Atlanta hotel room last month.

Representatives from different community organizations are traveling to federal courthouses across the state saying they don’t want the issue to be swept under the rug.

They say they won’t stop until he’s impeached by Congress or resigns.

Carlos Chaverst,  National Action Network of Alabama, Youth Move Director said, “We wont stop until something’s done. I’ll put it this way, I am a tax payer so I look at it as if I am paying this man’s salary. If I’m paying his salary and he’s beating his wife at home, I shouldn’t be a tax payer. It’s only fair to us as tax payers and citizens to have what we want. If we elect people to be in office. We elected George Bush in office….who appointed mark Fuller then it should be on us to get things done.”

A magistrate ordered Fuller to take a 24 week domestic violence intervention program and a substance abuse assessment and treatment.

The group protesting says they’ve asked the magistrate to not clear his record…even if the courses are complete.
