Fine Fall Weekend; Future Forecaster Gavynn Surles
VETERANS DAY: First off, thanks to all the Veterans out there!!! After the cold start, the mainly sunny sky will allow afternoon temperatures to climb into the low to mid 70s throughout South/Central Alabama. If you are out of school, off work, or heading to one of those many Veterans Day events today, the weather will be terrific.
FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS: For the second round of the high school playoff games tonight, a clear sky with temperatures falling from 61 at kickoff into the lower 50s by the final whistle…Take the jackets and blankets!
FINE FALL WEEKEND: Sunny days, clear nights, highs in the lower 70s Saturday and Sunday. Lows will be in the 30s and 40s.
FOOTBALL WEATHER: Alabama hosts Mississippi State Saturday (11:00a CT kickoff); the sky will be sunny with temperatures rising from near 65 at kickoff, to 70 by the fourth quarter.
Auburn travels to Athens, GA to take on the Georgia Bulldogs (2:30p CT kickoff)… a perfect day for football. About 68 degrees at kickoff, dropping back into the low 60s by the final whistle.
NEXT WEEK: The week looks to start off dry, as it appears there will be no rain through Thursday with the very dry air in place. By next Thursday, November 17, we will have gone 60 consecutive days with no measurable rain. But, with a pattern flip, hope for rain is high at the end of the week; both global models show a cold front with a band of showers and storms late Friday or Saturday…Hooray!!!
