Troy PD, Sheriff’s Office Visit Local School Children

This video is no longer available.

What do K-9s and fingerprints have in common? Well it’s all a part of Red Ribbon week in Troy.

This is video of Troy police’s Drako and Ista showing off for the kids at New Life Christian Academy.

Students learned all about how Drako is able to sniff out narcotics and Ista can detect bombs.

This is a chance for the officers to interact with the school kids and stress the importance of being drug free.

Also part of Red Ribbon Week– the Pike County Sheriff’s Office spent today at Heaven Sent daycare fingerprinting about 45— 2 to 5 year olds.

It’s part of their free ID kits that can help law enforcement locate a child in times of emergency.

The sheriff’s been doing this for the past 15 years and more than 7,000 kids have been sent home with the ID kits.
