Opp Lays Down Foundation For Much Needed Building

In South Alabama some city employees are unhappy with working conditions in one city owned building. City officials say big changes are on the horizon.
Roof leaks, mold issues, wiring issues. These are the working conditions for employees in the city Opp. It’s also the place customers come to pay their utility bills.
There’s more, Including a shortage of parking, issues with the drive-thru for customers, and there’s even a tarp on the roof to stop leaks.
City employees have complained and worked in these conditions for years. Now city officials hope this new site will be the answer to all of their problems.
This is the future site of the new utilities building. It’s been in the works for quite some time.
And some say it will be a big, much needed improvement for city employees.
Customers will also reap the benefits.They can actually go to the drive-thru and pay their bill all month long, instead of just the tenth of every month
The new Utilities building is expected to open sometime in August of next year.
