One Troy Student, One Visitor Arrested for Dorm Burglaries

Troy University police arrest two men after allegedly breaking into dorm rooms.

Police say Brandon Sprinkle and Malik Ferguson broke into dorms in the Newman Center after students had left for winter break. They allegedly stole different electronics like televisions and computers.

Authorities say Ferguson was a student at the time, but wasn’t returning this semester.

John McCall, Troy University Police Chief said, “It typically happens in every college community where usually the local crime element I guess you would say, takes advantage of the college students when they leave but this actually was a college student that took advantage of his classmates. And saw an opportunity and took it.”

Ferguson was living in Tennessee, but this week turned himself into police. Sprinkle was visiting Ferguson at the time of the crimes. He’s from Pensacola and also turned himself into police.

Both were charged with 5 counts of burglary and 5 counts of theft of property
