While Governor Robert Bentley may agree with Chief Justice Roy Moore’s convictions, he sees same-sex marriage differently when it comes to obeying the law.

Bentley says there has been a lot of confusion for probate judges whether to follow the law or refuse to under Chief Justice Roy Moore’s order. But the governor says he supports the judges’ decision in whatever they decide, and he also says he will obey the law even if he doesn’t agree with it.

“I don’t want Alabama portrayed in a negative light because when it’s portrayed in a negative light, it doesn’t help me to recruit jobs in Alabama. So I’m hurting families when I can’t help people get a job in this state. So I want to do everything I can to make sure the people across the country, the people across the world, realize that Alabama is a different state. And I will obey the law and that’s what I’m going to do,” said Gov. Bentley.

The Supreme Court will make a final ruling on same-sex marriage for the rest of the country in June.
