A Hot And Dry Start To This Week

It was a mainly sunny and hot Sunday across central and south Alabama. Many locations reached the low 90s, with upper 80s otherwise. There wasn’t a drop of rain in our area today, with only some clouds at times to provide moments of shade. The dry weather pattern continues early this week while temperatures trend even hotter.

Mild Saturday Night But Hot Sunday Afternoon

Saturday was a warm day for central and south Alabama. A mix of sun and clouds filled the sky throughout the day. Although it seemed surefire that temperatures would peak in the upper 80s in most locations, highs were generally in the mid 80s outside of far south Alabama. Not necessarily a bad thing.

Warm With Rain Chances Slim To None This Week

After a mainly sunny and dry weekend, the weather pattern changes a bit early this week. At midday, some locations were closer to a partly cloudy sky, and it looks like many of us see a mix of sun and clouds this afternoon.

Trending Warmer, Remaining Mainly Dry This Week

Another sunny and warm afternoon Sunday after a cool morning. Temperatures started in the low to mid 50s for most, but rebounded into the low 80s this afternoon. Even though winds turned more towards the southeast, humidity was decently low, with dewpoints in the upper 40s to around 50° and relative humidity falling to 30 to 35% during the afternoon.

Below-Normal Temperatures Close Out The Week

If you found yourself reaching for a jacket Thursday morning, you probably weren’t alone. Morning low temperatures fell into the 50s. While the last few days featured more clouds than sunshine, sunshine returns in greater supply today.

Showers And Storms For A Few Days

The sunny and warm weather from Mother’s Day weekend is on hiatus with showers and storms back in our area today. Rain was moderate to heavy at times with thunder and lightning in the mix late Sunday night and early Monday morning.
