Thursday remains another pleasant early June day, with low humidity, sunshine, no rain, an east breeze, and high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. Thursday night looks mostly clear and mild with lows near 60°.
Our area remains dry with sunshine for the rest of Wednesday, with a brisk east wind gusting over 20 mph at times. Meanwhile, high temperatures range from the low to mid 80s, well below normal for early June in our area.
Showers and storms become scattered about Tuesday afternoon, and linger into the evening. A few strong storms may occur in far southeast Alabama, capable of a damaging wind gust or two.
The hot, humid air may fuel strong to severe storms in our area late Monday afternoon into Monday evening. The storm prediction center places much of our area within a marginal (level 1/5) severe risk. Damaging wind gusts are the main hazard.
Shower and storm coverage gradually increases Friday afternoon, moving southwest to northeast. Outside of rain, some sunshine within a mostly cloudy sky may allow for temperatures to warm into the mid and even upper 80s in some locations.
A narrow band of heavier rain and some storms formed along highway 29 in far southwest Alabama early Thursday afternoon. That likely continues north through Thursday afternoon, gradually spreading rain across more of our area.
The sky remains mostly cloudy Wednesday, while showers and storms stay scattered about, moving south to north through sunset. Temperatures warm into the 80s, perhaps mid and upper 80s in locations that remain dry long enough.
