Feeling summer-like Thursday, rain returns through this weekend
Thursday morning was mainly sunny and dry. After several mornings with low temperatures in the 50s, Thursday morning was warmer with lows mainly in the mid 60s. Higher humidity results in a summer-like feel to Thursday afternoon, with high temperatures in the low 90s and slightly higher heat indices. However, increased humidity may also result in at least a few stray showers or storms mainly in far south Alabama through the early evening.
Although, most locations remain dry with a partly cloudy sky. Thursday night looks mostly clear with lows near 70°. Friday’s chance for rain looks higher than Thursday, with showers and storms becoming widely scattered during the afternoon, lingering into the evening. Friday night trends drier with a partly cloudy sky, and lows again only falling to around 70°.
Rain chances look highest this weekend, with showers and storms becoming scattered about both Saturday and Sunday. While this weekend may not be a washout, any location in our area may see more than one round of rain Saturday and again Sunday. Rain chances rise this weekend as a result of an approaching cold front. It looks like the front moves through and south of our area early next week. That results in drier and cooler weather towards the end of next week.
