Clouds are spreading north into central Alabama this morning, and a few showers are falling south of I-85. The clouds and showers will lift north this afternoon and evening. Shower activity will remain scattered in nature through this afternoon, but an uptick in coverage is expected later on tonight and through the weekend. Some thunderstorms will also be embedded within…
After a chilly start to the morning, we’re heading for a much warmer afternoon. Highs today will reach the low 60s, and the sunshine should make for a pleasant afternoon. It will be a little chilly again tonight, with lows dropping to near 40 degrees. Clouds will be on the increase early tomorrow morning and through Friday. Some showers will…
The strongest thunderstorms are now pushing out of southeast Alabama, and our severe weather threat is winding down. We still will have light to moderate rain through the rest of the afternoon. A cold front will swing through the area this afternoon, providing cooler temperatures and eventually a clearing sky tonight and tomorrow. Lows will range from the mid 30s…
The rain is long gone and many locations are back to a sunny sky, with only areas north of I-85/east of I-65 still dealing with some clouds. The sky clears tonight as a reinforcing cold front pushes through central and south Alabama. Expect a cooler night with lows ranging from 35 degrees north to near 40 south. Monday looks like…
It was a tale of two halves for Saturday, with sun during the morning but a layer of clouds that rolled in for the afternoon. Some light echoes are indicated on radar this evening, but it’s unlikely any of those are reaching the surface due to some very dry air in the lower levels. That will eventually be overcome later…
We’ll stay mostly sunny and dry Friday afternoon with highs in the low 50s. Friday night will be cold with lows falling to the mid and upper 20s, so it will be a little chilly early Saturday morning (and if you’re heading out to the Mardi Gras parade in Millbrook). Saturday afternoon will be slightly warmer with highs in the…

Rain has held off for the most part so far, but some scattered showers will be possible through this afternoon. High temperatures will warm to near 70 for some, and top out in the mid 60s elsewhere. The best chance for rain will…

Most of the rain is now east of I-65 as of 5:00 PM, and the remaining rainfall across the east half of Alabama will continue to push east and out of the state this evening. A gradually clearing sky can be expected overnight, with temperatures eventually falling to the upper 30s west to mid…
So far today, much of the rainfall has been along a fairly narrow band from about Demopolis to Clanton to Alex City, and points north. More rainfall currently situated across south Mississippi should trek into central and south Alabama this evening, and persist overnight. Still looks like our most widespread rain will be overnight tonight, and then it gradually tapers…
