An excessive heat warning continues until Sunday evening. Heat indices could be over 110° across all of our area for most of the afternoon.
Plenty of heat Friday with high temperatures in the mid to upper 90s and peak heat indices near or above 105°. Storms appear possible throughout the day. Some storms may be strong, a few could be marginally severe.
Thursday looks like another very hot and humid day across central and south Alabama. High temperatures range from the low to mid 90s. However, heat indices peak between 105 and 112°.
Wednesday looks like another very hot and humid day. High temperatures range from the low to mid 90s, but heat indices could be as high as 113°. A heat advisory covers most of our area until Thursday evening.
The Storm Prediction Center places most of our area within either a slight (level 2/5) or marginal (level 1/5) severe risk. Additional storms, capable primarily of strong straight-line wind gusts, remain possible through Sunday evening.
