Gov. Bentley Authorizes Funds to Combat TB Outbreak

Gov. Robert Bentley has authorized emergency funding in the Alabama Department of Public Health’s continued effort to combat the Tuberculosis outbreak in Perry County. Two People Found Shot in Coosa County

Coosa County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the shootings of two people. They say the shootings happened inside a home on County Road 93 in the Cottage Grove community on Wednesday. Hurtsboro Woman Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash

A Hurtsboro woman has died following a single-vehicle crash near Opelika, according to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency officials. Lawanda Kelly, 35, was killed when the 1998 Ford Expedition she was driving left the roadway and overturned. Kelley, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Montgomery Police Investigators are searching for an unknown female that stole a wallet. Montgomery Police Make Murder Arrest

  Montgomery police say they’ve made an arrest in the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Gregory Smith of Selma. Smith was shot on Sunday,  Jan. 17. Detectives say they’ve charged Antuan Johnson, 21, of Montgomery with one count of capital murder. Johnson was taken into custody Wednesday, Feb. 3, and is being held without bond.
