Peyton Manning overcame injuries, doubts and heartache to become the first starting quarterback to win Super Bowls with two franchises. The No. 1 overall pick by Indianapolis in the 1998 NFL draft won his first ring with the Colts in 2007 and his second ring in Denver five years ago. Manning joined the Broncos after missing a season with a neck injury that required several surgeries and led to his tearful release from the Colts. Manning will be introduced by his father, Archie, who always was willing to give his sons advice so long as he was asked.

A person with knowledge of the negotiations confirmed to The Associated Press that the Denver Nuggets have reached two-year agreements with a pair of their free agents, guard Will Barton and forward JaMychal Green. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deals can’t be finalized until Friday, though they were reached as the NBA free agency negotiating period opened. Barton’s deal is for $32 million and Green’s for $17 million.
