James files grievance against Broncos, signs with Ravens

By ARNIE STAPLETON - AP Pro Football Writer

Offensive tackle Ja’Wuan James has filed a grievance against the Denver Broncos over his release last month after he tore an Achilles tendon. Because he got hurt off site, the Broncos aren’t obligated to pay him any of his $10 million-plus salary for 2021. James is seeking $15 million and argues he was training for the upcoming season when he got hurt. He says the non-football injury list he was placed on was meant to address off-field injuries that occurred in a reckless fashion. James also agreed to a deal with Baltimore and will rehab with the Ravens.
