Broncos release veteran defensive tackle Jurrell Casey

The Denver Broncos have released veteran defensive tackle Jurrell Casey. The move saves the team about $12 million against the 2021 salary cap. Casey was acquired from the Tennessee Titans for a seventh-round pick a year ago. But the five-time Pro Bowler played just three games in Denver before suffering a season-ending biceps injury. This move follows the release of cornerback A.J. Bouye that also saved about $12 million against next season’s salary cap. Bouye also was acquired last year but had a injury-riddled 2020 season with the Broncos.
