Money, Response Time Are Factors In Pike. Co Ambulance Decision

A new ambulance company will soon be dispatched out in all of Pike County.
Â
Care Ambulance has covered the county since 2005, but the city of Troy and Pike County selected Haynes for the next three-year contract.Â
Â
Why should you care? Haynes will cost the county more than $350,000 dollars less than Care per year.
Also per mile for you or your insurance, Haynes is more than three dollars cheaper.Â
Â
Haynes just moved into a new facility in Troy and it says it’s ready to hit the ground running.
Â
Ron Warner, Operations Manager Haynes Ambulance Montgomery said, “We are taking on a little bit of a growth spurt we added our helicopter this year which also serves Pike Co. And we are excited to be serving the citizens.”
Â
We reached out to Care Ambulance to hear how this will impact its presence in Troy, but have not yet heard back from the company.
Â
We did learn today that Care shut down its Dothan office citing that the city was not big enough for more than one ambulance service.Â
