Montgomery Man Arrested in Connection to East Street Shooting
The Montgomery Police Department has a suspect in custody in connection to the Nov. 12 shooting death of 35-year old James Horn of Montgomery.
MPD charged Kenneth Harvey Sr., 48, with one count of murder in connection with Horn’s death. Harvey was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force and turned over to MPD.
Investigators placed Harvey in the Montgomery County Detention Facility, where he is being held under a $150,000 bond.
At about 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, MPD and fire medics responded to the 3400 block of East Street after receiving a report of a subject shot. There, they located Horn, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The circumstances surrounding this fatal shooting initially were unknown, but MPD developed information in the course of the investigation that indicates the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute. Investigators identified Harvey as the suspect.
At this point in the investigation, no additional information is available for release.
