Governor Bentley Announces Major Plans for Alabama’s Bicentennial

Major plans are in the works for the Capitol City as the state prepares for its bicentennial commemoration.

Governor Robert Bentley announced plans to construct a bicentennial park. The park will face the capitol between the Attorney General’s and Lurleen Wallace buildings. I will include several sculptures that tell the history of Alabama Visitors will be able to learn more about the state’s history, walking through the park. It’s something Governor Robert Bentley says he’s proud to be apart of.

“There are so many I think important historical events, so many important historical commemorations around this capitol. We invite people around the state to come and visit us,” says Bentley.

The park is expected to be done by the end of next year.
