An Active Weather Pattern Ahead
We’re heading towards an active weather pattern that will bring us a couple of rounds of rain this week and more ahead for next week. It’s a classic El Nino setup that will keep the rain makers coming our way this winter.
In the meantime, high pressure is carving us out some mainly clear skies and chilly temps. We’re expecting temps to fall into the upper 20s overnight. Abundant sunshine is overhead tomorrow but temps only manage mid 50s for highs. We head into Tuesday night with clouds on the increase and our next rain maker advancing eastward towards the state.
Our Wednesday is setting up to be cloudy and wet. An area of low pressure will move along the northern gulf coast region. It’s a rain maker for us with rainfall potential between .25 to .50 an inch. This will be all rain and no severe storm threat will accompany this system. Clouds and rain activity will keep it cool and temps only reach the upper 40s to lower 50s Wednesday afternoon.
Later in the week, we’re back to sunshine but cold air still hovers around. Highs will reach the mid to upper 50s but overnight temps will drop to the freezing mark both Thursday and Friday morning.
The upcoming weekend will reveal another rain maker working across the area. It’s an area of low pressure moving along the northern gulf coast region. Once again, it’s all rain with no severe storm threat. Temps during the weekend will continue in the 50s for highs while overnight lows hover in the lower 40s. We’re back to sunshine and dry conditions Sunday into Monday but there’s another rain maker setting up for Tuesday of next week.
