Sunshine, dry Friday; Hot, humidity rises, rain returns this weekend

Friday morning was mild again around sunrise, with low temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s. However, temperatures were already in the mid 80s at midday, equaling or exceeding high temperatures on Thursday. Temperatures warm into the upper 80s in most locations Friday afternoon, while the sky remains partly to mostly sunny and our area stays dry. Friday night looks mostly clear with lows in the mid 60s.

Summer heat returns in earnest this weekend, as humidity rises thanks to winds turning towards the south/southeast. Isolated afternoon showers or storms forming mainly southwest Saturday afternoon due to the higher humidity. However, most of our area remains dry with a partly cloudy sky, and high temperatures near 90°. Sunday’s rain chance looks a little higher, with widely scattered showers and storms. Although, rain favors locations mainly west of I-65.

Chances for rain continue next week. Showers and storms become widely scattered, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours Monday through Wednesday. Otherwise, expect typical summertime heat, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. It still looks like rain chances fall late next week. Meanwhile, high temperatures remain in the upper 80s to low 90s Thursday and Friday.
