Local non-profit delivers free books to encourage kids to read this summer
MGM Reads, along with the Vance Law Firm and the Montgomery Biscuits, teamed up with the YMCA of Greater Montgomery to deliver free books to children at the Goodtimes Center through the Montgomery Education Program. Each child signed up receives 10 books with 800 kids expected to be a part of the program this summer.
MGM Reads wants to help kids spark conversations at the dinner table, build confidence in young readers, and give parents tools to support learning at home.
To really help encourage kids to read, the top 3 readers at each Montgomery YMCA have to opportunity to win a prize pack through the Vance Law Firm.
These prizes include:
- A 24 oz The Vance Law Firm Owala water bottle
- Frisbee/Bubbles/Sidewalk Chalk/Stress Ball/Sunglasses/TVLF T-shirt
- A $33 Biscuits Gift Card
The Montgomery Biscuits are also giving away free home game tickets to all kids who read books and color in the custom Biscuit’s bookmarks.
