Two men arrested in two separate police chases in the same area

The incident happened around 2:51 p.m. Monday in the area of North Knox Street.
Troy Police Chief Danny Barron said his officers attempted to pull over a driver, identified as 25-year-old Z’erathan Caffie, of Troy. Caffie stopped and gave officers a false name.
Shortly, he fled the scene in his car, leading officers on a short chase that ended at a dead end on North Knox Street. That’s when Caffie got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.
While officers were searching for Caffie, a red BMW drove into the area. Officers believed the vehicle was attempting to pick up Caffie.
When officers tried to stop the driver, identified as Kencorius Boykin, of Brundidge, he refused, leading officers on a second chase.
The chase eventually ended in the 100 block of Orion Street, where Boykin fled on foot. He was eventually taken into custody after a short foot chase.
During the ongoing search for Caffie, concerned citizens directed officers to an area where he was hiding. Officers located Caffie and took him into custody without further incident.
Caffie has been charged with attempting to elude, obstructing by giving a false name, resisting arrest and 2nd degree possession of marijuana. Boykin is charged with attempting to elude and obstructing governmental operations.
Both men are in the Pike County Jail.
