Montgomery Public Schools announces 21st Century Community Learning Centers

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Montgomery Public Schools has announced that five schools will offer 21st Century Community Learning Centers this upcoming school year.

These centers will offer students after-school learning opportunities designed to extend learning beyond the traditional school day.

The following schools will participate in the program during the 2026-2027 school year:

● Flowers Elementary School (Monday-Friday)
● Bellingrath Middle School (Monday-Thursday)
● Capitol Heights Middle School (Monday-Thursday)
● Goodwyn Middle School (Monday-Thursday)
● McKee Middle School (Monday-Thursday)

The federally funded program supports students through hands-on experiences that make learning meaningful and engaging. Programming includes project-based learning, family engagement activities, service-learning opportunities, academic enrichment and activities that help students develop critical thinking, collaboration and leadership skills.

The program will operate through the school year and for several weeks during the summer.

Families interested in participating should contact their child’s school for registration information, program schedules and operating hours.
