Residents Concerned Over Troy Road Projects

Troy residents voice their concerns about the recently announced road project, that’s the largest endeavor in recent city history.

Residents in the area of Enzor road are concerned about the rezoning of their neighborhood.
The road projects will connect the areas of Oak Park, the Sportsplex and U.S. Highway 231.

This project was one of the conditions of Publix announcing their opening of a location.

While many were in support of the project, they do not want the character of their neighborhood to be impacted.

Heather Phillips, a concerned resident said, “It just means more traffic on our area. We all have small children that like to play outside, and it’s just going to bring more traffic and possible crime with apartment complexes as we’ve seen in other areas of Troy. And we just don’t want that on the outskirts of Troy where we live where it’s nice and quiet.”

The planning commission unanimously approved the project, minus the portion where the residents expressed concerned.

It will now head to the city council with those recommendations.
