Graduates all across our area are crossing the stage to get heir high school diplomas. It’s a milestone for many, but for one graduate, this school year was much more challenging than passing quizzes and final exams.
Jacquerean Marshall received his diploma at Charles Henderson’s graduation today.
Getting to this point hasn’t been easy.
Before the start of his senior year, the talented football player had dreams of attending the University of Miami.
But, those dreams were put on hold when the teen was shot in the head while at a Troy home with other teenagers. Through months of recovery, he was able to receive his diploma.
Jacquerean said, “It’s amazing I’m glad that I made it. Pray you will make it everything will be all right, just keep praying.”
Jacquerean will be heading to the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind in Talladega to learn the skills to make him college ready. So he can hopefully fulfill his goal of attending the University of Miami.
