What is the Solution in America to Charleston’s shooting?

The massacre that happened at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston Wednesday grips the nation, as well as people here in Montgomery.

“That’s horrible, especially targeting black people, yes, that’s horrible,” said Angela Hudson.

Some say the solution to it begins at home.

“Parenting, because I feel like, me personally, we know our kids growing up and we can look at our kids– ‘ok, my child has a problem. We need to get our child help,’ yes,” said Hudson.

After the 21 year old suspect opened fire in a church Bible study, President Obama calls for more gun control.

“Once again, innocent people were killed in part because someone who wanted to inflict harm had no trouble getting their hands on a gun,” said the President.

“A 21 year old kid ain’t got no business walking around with no gun. We need gun control number one. Number two, he had some bad training somewhere. And that should be stopped too. A lot of people running around not doing the right thing. They out here to do the wrong thing. It should be stopped,” said Jeffery Harris.

Scott Hammett is a pastor from upstate South Carolina.
He says even though we may not have all the answers as a country, there is one thing that everyone no matter race, gender or background needs to have.

“I think respect for everybody has to be a part of it. Respect for everybody’s differences has to be a part of it. And so, whenever we are able to respect each other as humans, giving each other the gift of being who we are, I think we’ll go a long way,” said Hammett.
