Call Center Brings 300 New Jobs To Montgomery

The city of Montgomery was very excited to have EGS expand their operation. In addition to the 300 new jobs, the company will also invest about one million dollars in their current call center.
Â
“The decision for us to expand in Montgomery was an easy one. We’ve been here since 2001, we’ve got a great employee base that’s out there. We have longstanding employees that have been here since the very beginning. It was a very easy decision to expand additionally in Montgomery,” said site director Pat Deprospo.
Â
It’s that kind of dedication that really impressed Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange. The company has more than 70 facilities spread across the globe.Â
EGS is part of the booming call center business in town.
Â
“To get a company that’s already here that gets new opportunities for an inbound call center, particularly in the telecommunications industry, to choose to expand where they already are as opposed to going somewhere else and expanding, that speaks volumes about what’s in Montgomery,” said Mayor Strange.
Â
Just a few weeks ago, the chamber of commerce was welcoming another call center to town, bringing about 500 new jobs with them as well.
Â
That’s about 800 jobs in the industry alone over the last month, which is really driving the city’s new employment numbers for the year.Â
Â
“This would get close to 1300. some of them are new, some are expansion like we’ve done today. There are a couple out there  that if we could get success in those we could be looking at another 2 to 3 thousand,” said Strange.Â
