MONTGOMERY – When Alabama State University Head Football Coach Brian Jenkins started preseason camp, he stated at that time all positions were open for competition even though the Hornets had 14 starters returning from last season.  As ASU enters week two of preseason camp his thoughts have not changed.

“I believe in opening things up to keep it competitive,” Jenkins said.  “Every position will stay open all during the year.  Those guys are going to have to compete every day on and off the field to be the guy that lines up.  I just believe in that, you have to compete and I think that makes everybody better.”
