A Rainy Weather Pattern Is On The Way

High pressure is hovering over our area and it will continue to help keep us dry through Thursday afternoon. The high pressure system will move east us Thursday night and that will open the door for a cloudy and rainy weather pattern to return.

In the mean time, another cold night is setting up for the area. Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid 30s overnight. Frosty conditions are possible as you start out your Thursday but a nice recovery temperaturewise is ahead for that afternoon. We’re expecting highs in the lower to mid 60s.

Looks like clouds and rain will be returning for late Thursday night into Friday. We could see at least three waves of rain pass through the area Friday through Sunday. Each will have the potential to produce a good soaking rain for the area. We could be looking at a range of 1 to 3 inch rainfall for the area. Temps will manage upper 60s to lower 70s for highs and lows in the upper 50s to lower 60s during the rainy weather pattern. There is the potential for a few strong to possibly severe storms as well. The NWS has placed our area in a marginal risk area (1 out of 5) for severe storms Thursday night into Friday. The main threat will be damaging winds but there’s also the potential for a few tornadoes. We will keep you posted on that threat.
