Montgomery District Attorney’s Office Asks Court to Reinstate “Critter Man” Verdict

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s office is asking a higher court to reinstate the conviction for David Nash, the man convicted in the “Critter Man” murder.

In August, a jury found Nash guilty of taking part in a murder-for-hire scheme to kill Ralph “Skip” McNeil, an animal trapper better known as the critter man.

In January, a circuit judge set aside the verdict and granted a new trial, ruling there was juror misconduct in the first trial.

Assistant District Attorney Daryl Bailey says the DA’s office filed a petition arguing the verdict should stand.

Three other people have pleaded guilty to taking part in the 2011 murder.
