Auburn Women’s Basketball adds SEC All-Freshman Guard Taliah Scott

Former Arkansas Razorback and SEC All-Freshman guard Taliah Scott transfers to Auburn.
Scott a rising sophomore and a native of Orange Park, Florida was one of the leading scorers in the league last season and led the Razorbacks in scoring with an average of 22.1 points a game. Scott also averaged 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists a game and shot 40.7 percent from the field and 83.8 percent at the free-throw line.
“Taliah Scott is one of the most complete players in the game today,” says head coach Johnnie Harris. “She is an ELITE player who can score at all three levels and create for herself and her teammates without sacrificing the defensive side of the ball. Playing championship level defense is the foundation of what we do as a program, and Taliah is committed to helping us elevate that culture. Her speed, skill and basketball IQ make her a rare and unique addition to our program.”
Scott saw the court in 20 games for the Razorbacks during the 2023-24 season during which she posted more than 20 points 13 different times and posted three games in the 30’s. Scott posted her season high of 34 points in the Razorbacks game against Arkansas State.
“I chose Auburn not only because of the coaching staff’s ability to help develop me and get me to where I want to be, but also because of the family environment within the team and the entire community,” Scott said. “I wanted to be surrounded by winners and that’s what Auburn has from the administration to the coaches and staff to the players. Auburn has everything I need to thrive and be the best version of myself!”
During her high school career Scott was named the Florida Gatorade Player of the Year, Florida Dairy Farmers Miss Basketball, and a McDonald’s All-American. She was ranked the nation’s No. 11 prospect by ESPN HoopGurlz. She finished her high school career with 2,735 points and averaged 36.2 points along with 9.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 3.0 steals as a senior.
