Very hot and humid weather with scattered storms this weekend
Friday was another very hot and humid day across central and south Alabama. Temperatures soared into the mid and upper 90s during the afternoon. A heat advisory covered all of our area during the day. Heat indices peaked near or above 105°. Fortunately, numerous showers and storms formed during the afternoon and evening. Rain tapers off Friday night. The sky becomes partly cloudy, with lows in the mid 70s.
The weekend looks hot, with high temperatures in the mid 90s Saturday and Sunday. A heat advisory covers most of central and south Alabama Saturday. Heat indices peak near or above 105°. Showers and storms become scattered about during the afternoon and linger into the evening. That should help curb the heat in some locations. Sunday’s weather plays out almost identically.
